General Meetings

UAITE holds general body meetings once or twice a month. During these meetings, first, the president or VP greet the members and updates them about the past and/or upcoming events and activities. In the kick-off meetings at the beginning of each semester, the officers and chapter’s general plans are announced and a quick orientation is given on ITE and the benefits that the students will get by becoming a member. In the Fall kick-off meetings, a representative from SAITE will typically be present to briefly speak about the SAITE activities as well as scholarship opportunities. Free pizza and drinks will also be served at these events.
This year several of our UAITE meetings were joint meetings with the University of Arizona Transportation Research Institute (TRI) and National Institute for Transportation and Communities (NITC). In addition, UAITE sponsored the Pag-UA Transportation seminar series in November 2018.
Speakers are invited to give a presentation at the general body meetings, and the UAITE president will introduce the speaker and announce his or her topic. We try to invite speakers from different sectors and different areas of transportation to help students broaden their knowledge and learn about all aspects of the transportation profession. Below is a list of our invited speakers for the 2018-19 school year:
